DIY Skincare & Beauty Ingredients

By April Braithwait

There are so many wonderful ingredients that can be used to create your own skincare and beauty products at home.

But for beginners there are SO many different recipes online with conflicting advice and insight into these powerful agents.

Today I’m breaking down my favourite carrier oils & plant based body butters. These ingredients are often used as the building blocks to DIY recipes. So it’s important we use them according to our individual beauty / skincare needs. Follow along for some insight as well as some recipes of our own you can use with the ingredients listed!

Let’s get started…

Butters

Cocoa

Rough patches, stretch marks, itchy or damaged skin.

Shea

Sensitive skin / eczema or dermatitis.

Mango

Fine lines, oily, acne prone or combination skin.

Kokum

Anti-aging, dry skin, scar healing.

If you want to try one of our recipes using your choice of nourishing body butters try our Whipped Body Butter recipe.

Oils

Sweet Almond

Irritation, stretch marks & dark circles.

Argan

Non-greasy, fast-absorbing, mature, dry & combination skin.

Jojoba

Mimics natural human sebum. Oily, acne-prone skin.

Coconut

Highly moisturizing & rich for extremely dry skin.

Use one of these luscious oils in our Essential Hair Oil.

I can’t wait to see your transition to clean, natural and eco friendly beauty alternatives. Thanks for following along!

Until next time,

April
